We Are Ready For Our Next Game Rangdajied United's Skipper Eugeneson
Shillong: 7th October, 2013
Rangdajied United FC might not have had the brightest start to their maiden I-League journey, having suffered two defeats at Kolkata and Bangalore. But the atmosphere and mood of the team changed as soon as they came back home, to Shillong.
And since the 2-goal comeback against Dempo SC last Friday, that saw the team register their 1st ever I-League point, the team has been beaming with confidence. And the most delighted of all seems to be the captain Eugeneson Lyngdoh.
"The point against Dempo was very important for us. We could have won the game but were little unlucky with a penalty going against us. But that's a history now and we cannot keep creeping about that. We are looking forward to our next match and we hope to turn around things from here."
Rangdajied will next play host to the defending champions, Churchill Brothers, who have already reached Shillong. Like Rangdajied, the Goan's too have registered just a point from three outings and are placed just above the host in the I-League pecking order with a little better goal difference.
"Churchill Brothers have always been a good team. We respect them but we are also ready for the challenge. We will give our best and will definitely try to grab three points from this match. One should remember that we are playing at home," Eugene added.
It's no secret that when Shillong teams play at home, the opponents are very much worried about the 12 man - the crowds. Perhaps the most vociferous throughout the country, the continuous yelling at the opponents and cheering for the team, make visitors often nervous.
"Yes, that's the biggest advantage of playing at home and the support also motivates one to give his best and do better. I am very happy with the support we got in our last match, I am hoping for a much better and bigger support against Churchill Brothers," the captain said.
The home team will be training at the 3rd ground from 00:10 AM on Tuesday while Churchill Brothers will train in the afternoon from 02:30 PM.
