By: Imphal Talkies *
Sometime in summer 2008 Akhu (Ronid) Chingangbam and Sachidananda Angom formed a band called "Imphal Talkies 'N' the Howlers" and recorded eight songs at Shallow River Studio, Thangal Bazaar Imphal. Cutting the debut CD album was almost like a dream as the band had no financial supports. The songs were uploaded in the band's myspace account in a bid for the band to reach out to the world of music. And soon the band was reviewed in August 2008 edition of Rolling Stone Magazine(India) as a political band. But the band was still dreaming to release their debut album titled "Tiddim Road" as Akhu has benn dreaming.
It was sometime in January 2009, the band approached www.e-pao.net to produce the debut album "Tiddim Road". The band was well aware of e-pao team who have been consistently giving platforms for indigenous culture of Manipur, to budding artistes and established music bands in the Yell Out section. The band considered e-pao not only as some website which inform the world about the news of turmoil in Maniput but a platform that encourage young poets, writers, musicians. Akhu himself has been posting poetry in e-pao since 2006.
e-pao.net finally agreed to produce the album "Tiddim Road". The band released the album in early February 2009 in Delhi under the banner of www.e-pao.net.
Imphal Talkies 'N' The Howlers thanks e-pao team for supporting the band financially and making a dream came true. The band wishes www.e-pao.net a great future in its tenth anniversary celebration of its existence.
