Josy Joseph, senior editor of The Times of India was awarded Journalist of the Year (print) for his series of reports that exposed the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society scam in Mumbai which led to the removal of the State Chief Minister , Maharashtra
Smita Sharma, associate editor and anchor IBN7 ( broadcast) received recognition for Reporting on Politics and Government . Her reportage on Kashmir valley uprising in 2010 and the political dialogue process that followed captured the minds of the youth and brings out the challenges faced by the State and Center government.
Atul Chaurasia, bureau chief , Tehelka Magazine, was recognized for his humane story on displacement , in Sonbhdra in Uttar Pradesh, the power capital of India , where several thermal and hydro power projects have displaced several families.
Shalini Singh - Principal Correspondent, Hindustan Times (print) was awarded for her in-depth analytic report on mining in Goa, which raised the issue of illegal mining in India's smallest state in 2010 and her story on presence of tigers in Goa -- a state that claimed the absence of the big cat.
Suanshu Khurana - Principal Correspondent with The Indian Express was awarded in the Film and Television journalism category for her moving story of the reclusive Annapurna Devi, a gifted musician and Ravi Shanker’s first wife who closed her door to the outside world, strikes a note on music lovers and the readers.
