Suman Ningthoujam from Imphal becomes 8th Fair & Lovely Men Mega Mister North East
Babul Koch from Guwahati and Soman Chetry from Itanagar become 1st and 2nd Runners up respectively


In the presence of approximately 700 spectators from all across the northeastern region, Suman Ningthoujam from Imphal, Manipur became the 8th Fair & Lovely Men Mega Mister North East 2017 at the ITA Cultural Complex, Machkhowa on Saturday evening. Besides, Babul Koch from Guwahati, Assam and Soman Chetry from Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh became the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.

The contestants travelled to Guwahati for almost a week of activities which included grooming and training sessions conducted by Contestant Directors Piyush Sharma and Sadananda Meisnam, followed by rehearsals, leading up to the Grand Finale of the biggest manhunt of North East India. The pageant has been supported by Title Sponsor Fair & Lovely Men, Fashion Partner Trends, Hospitality Partner Radisson Blu, Digital Partner Vodafone SuperNet 4G and Co-Sponsored by Panasonic.

Imphal-born Suman Ningthoujam is a civil engineering graduate from SVCET, Andhra Pradesh. Suman, who did his schooling from Eden Public School, Imphal, thanked everyone for the support and said that the title will enable him to live up his dreams. “I am very happy today. Thank you Mega Entertainment and the panel of judges… my parents will be proud today,” said Suman.

First Runner’s up Babul Koch, who hails from Guwahati, said that he was happy that his hard work was appreciated by the panel of judges. Babul is a BBA second year student at NEF Law College.

Soman Chetry, who just passed his Class XII from KV-II Itanagar, was the second Runner’s up at the 8th Fair & Lovely Men Mega Mister North East 2017. “I am very happy that I could come and participate in this competition. Thank you Mega Entertainment and Abhijit Singha for the opportunity,” he said.

8th Fair & Lovely Men Mega Mister North East Suman Ningthoujam has won a prize package worth Rs. 1,50,000, including a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, gift hampers from Fair & Lovely Men, LED TV and grooming kits from Panasonic, unlimited calling and 4g/3g data for 6 months from Vodafone, 1 year gym membership from Biofit, UM Motors and other sponsors. He also wins traveling and international representation opportunities in countries like Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam & Cambodia.

The three winners will be offered professional representation by Mega Entertainment, a professional grooming session, which would guide them further on how to carry themselves forward in the professional sphere. Besides, the winners also get the opportunity to walk the ramp in various national and international shows.

The organizers of the event, Mega Entertainment, had shortlisted 48 men, who contested for the title of Fair & Lovely Men Mega Mister North East 2017. The pageant is curated by Founder of Mega Entertainment Abhijit Singha and is driven by Managing Director of Mega Entertainment Kanhaiya Mehta.

During the strong competition, the contestants were judged in three segments: Black Suit presentation, body fitness and personality interview as they vied for the coveted title of Fair & Lovely Men Mega Mister North East 2017. Kanhaiya Mehta– Managing Director, Mega Entertainment, Sushanta Rajkumar – 1st Runner-up Mega Mister North East 2016 and Mega Mister North East 2016 Animesh Pandit felicitated the winners respectively at the conclusion of the pageant.

The judges who sealed the fate of this year’s winners included: Soma Laishram, leading Manipuri actress and Mega Miss North East 2010, Arif Mukhim, leading fashion designer from Shillong and Mega Mister North East 2009 runner-up, Naved Qureshi, blogger and fashion consultant and National Brand Head of Jana Bank, Silvia Palmei, Marcom Head- Vodafone Mobile Services Ltd, Bobby Singh, Fashion & Lifestyle Promoter, Anjan Bose, Regional Head (East)- Trends, and Monika Devi, Senior Member, Mega Entertainment.

The pageant organizers were also judged for a series of sub-awards. Chumal Lepcha from Sikkim was awarded Fair & Lovely Men Mister Magnetic Personality; Chetan Titre from Assam won the Trends Mister Trendy title; Chongtham Daniel Singh from Manipur was given the Radisson Blue Mister Hospitality award; Niloy Bora from Assam won the Biofit Gym Mister Physique award; Vodafone Mister Popular, which is selected on the basis of highest number of votes received and allows direct entry into the semi-final, was won by Nitish Deka from Assam.
