Statement from NSUD on mass exodus of north east populace
New Delhi, 22nd August 2012
In view of the recent developments in other metro cities, where mass exodus of north east populace has been observed, the Naga Students’ Union,Delhi would like to clarify its stand with regard to the situation in Delhi and NCR that so far, no untoward incident has been reported in the capital relating to the communal conflict in Assam.
As far as the union is concern, it has held various rounds of talks with the Delhi police authorities in finding positive and effective steps in tackling the prevailing situation.
The union has also met and discussed with the authorities concerned at Nagaland House, various means and measures to curb the circulation of any undesirable information without proper source and evidence which may create fear psychosis among the general Naga populace in the capital.
NSUD, however assures all concerned parents and relatives, the normalcy of the situation here in Delhi and request all to stay calm and positive.
In case of any mishappenings against any fellow Naga member, NSUD shall take stringent action against any individual responsible for it as the union is working together closely with various Organisations , Student bodies, Delhi police and senior Naga members.
Keeping in mind the responsibilities bestowed upon the union executives, NSUD would like to state that the safety and security of each and every individual Naga in Delhi and NCR is of its utmost concern.
