New Delhi, 28th July, 2013:
Shri. M. Asnikumar Singh, The State General Secretary , BJP Manipur Pradesh along with Shri. Kh. Raghumani Singh, Convenor ELection Cell , BJP , Manipur Pradesh today met Shri. LK Advani, Senior leader BJP/CHairman NDA at his residence 30-Prithviraj Road , New Delhi at 11a.m.
The meeting discussed on the prevailing situation of Manipur due to acute shortage of essential accomodities like petrol, desiel, LPG and other various day to day food items. The meeting took place for around 50 minutes. The State Delegation informed Shri. LK Advani in details about the present situation in Manipur due to the terrible landslide that took place at the National highway no.2 Imphal-dimapur and the prolonged deplorable condition of the roads of National highway no.37 Imphal-Jiribam which is almost disconnecting our state Manipur with the mainland India. Due to this situation there is an unexpected sky rising prices in the daily necessties which is extremely unbearable for the common people in the state.
As usual, many central ministers visits our state after some worse situations and assures something good to be done for the interest of the people of the state but what is happening in reality is nothing , its just a kind of dream only.
The present price of petrol is rs.160 per litre and diesel rs.90 per litre , onion rs.40 per kilogram ,potato rs.30 per kilogram etc..these prices are prevailing in the black market.
The State General Secretary, BJP requested to take up the following steps:-
1. To cope up with the scarcity of petroleum products , GOM/GOI should start taking up steps to bring back all the stranded oil tankers along the Imphal-Jiribam NH-37 by taking a detour through Assam.
2. The state must provide adequate escort to the truckers plying on the NH-37 to avoid disturbances by the highway goons.
3. GOM/GOI to provide manpower and machineries available with the government to the BRTF while repairing inaccessible strech of the highway.
4. It is like a war-time situation in the state and it needs an endeavour on a war-time footing as what road constructions were made by the armed engineers during the Kargil war, Leh-Ladakh (Jammu and Kashmir) etc..
After patiently listening to the above points, Shri. LK Advani spoke to the Union Home Minister Shri. Sushil Kumar Shinde who is presently in Maharashtra to immediately take up necessary measures for the state and its people as soon as possible without further delay. During the conversation the Union Home Minister asked Shri. LK.Advani to send the State delegates to the Union Home Secretary Shri Anil Goswami at 1.30 at North Block office , New Delhi. Even though if it was a sunday , which is usually a holiday for all the government offices but still he came and met with the state delegates and talked about the situation seriously. Then the Union Home Secretary asked the Union Joint Secretary Home (N.E.) to visit the state immediately and he also spoked to the Union Defence Secretary who controls the BRO.
He personally told the state delegates that ,"I belong to Jammu and Kashmir... almost the situation are same in both the states, so I understand the hardships facing by the people right now due to the situation personally and I am sure that his ministry will be doing whatever possible for the people of Manipur ."
The State delegates also met Shrimati. Shushma Swaraj, The leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha at her residence in afternoon and seriously discussed about the situation for around half an hour and she assured that the issue will be brought up in the upcoming Parliament session for discussion in the real interest for the people and the state.
