Special drive/operations from the District Police Imphal West

Banned drug recovered and seized from Imphal Airport area on 8th May 2012 :: Pix by Bullu Raj
During the last 48 hours in the successive special drive/operations, the District Police Imphal West had:-
I) Recovered one Tata Truck N0.AS18C/1117 which was hijacked by few persons after killing the owner at Silchar from Langthabal area on 06/05/2012.
ii) Recovered 2(two) live Chinese grenade from near the gate of Family Welfare office, B.T. Road which was meant to be used by underground elements for extortion campaign.
iii) Busted a racket/gang indulges in preparation/issuing of fake certificates such as M.V. Licence, Smart Card, Registration Book of vehicle, Driving Licence, Domicile/Permanent Residence Certificate etc. from a Computer shop run by one Sorokhaibam Chaoba(who is now absconding) in a rented shop located in Paona Bazar and recovered huge no. of fake certificates/cards, seals, one Computer desk top, one Printer etc.
iv) Arrested 2 cadres of PREPAK(Pro) namely, i) Sapam Dinachandra Singh @ Main (24) s/o S. Kunjo Singh of Okram Chuthek, Imphal East and ii) Okram Sarojkumar Singh (22) s/o O. Biren Singh of Okram Chuthek, Imphal East while they were intimidating a shop owner namely, Shri Birjit Jain(name changed) of a Steel Store at Thangal Bazar, Imphal to extort money and recovered 2(two) mobile handsets though which they carried out the intimidation, each from their possession.

v) Recovered and seized 21 Cartoons (each cartoons containing 7000 strips each of 10 tablets) of banned drug from Imphal Airport area on 8/5/2012 afternoon Total no. of recovered tablet will be around 1470000 Nos. (Fourteen lakhs seventy thousand only). Preliminary investigation reveals that the consignments originates from New Delhi and to whom it has to be delivered is under investigation.
Separate cases have been registered at City and Singjamei Police Stations for investigation.
