Shabbir upbeat vs Manipur at Santosh Trophy
The Telegraph | Calcutta, May 28, 2011
Bengal coach Shabbir Ali is upbeat about their chances against Manipur in the Santosh Trophy final, in Guwahati, on Monday. “If we can play the way we did against Railways, then we have a good chance. Saying this I would also like to add that Manipur will be a different challenge altogether,” Shabbir said from Guwahati.
“We played really well against Railways. And I am happy with the way the boys responded to the challenge,” Shabbir added.
It was Bengal’s entry into the final for the 43rd time and the defending champions would definitely like to retain the title. “Let’s see how things unfold on Monday. This bunch has players more or less unknown, but they have the talent,” Shabbir said about his team.
