Save The Building Block |

To build up a good and healthy society there is a big role of women. The present maiden and married women of our society is facing a very strong artificial winds from different sides. And it has influenced in many different direction. If we had not found a way, both the women from facing this strong artificial winds. Day-by-day our society will perish. To mention one thing among which is influenced by the artificial winds. When I was in school I didn't hear much about women selling her body and earning money. After finishing my 12th exam I had gone for further study outside Manipur. During my study, when I came for holidays I could see number of women had been increase. And the society which I saw before going to further study has drastically changed in different ways. Our economy is becoming worse day-by-day. Some people say that this is due to the reason that our Manipur has no economic resources. But in my opinion, it is the dirty politics that people play in their every sphere of life and that accounts for the deplorable condition of our economy. There could be many reasons why Manipur is not having any means to develop her own rich natural resources. Ordinary citizens of Manipur like me may not be knowing but the persons who analyse the situation of Manipur would definitely be knowing why Manipur is not having any means to develop her own resources. But one thing is certain that Manipur has got very rich Human Capital which is superior to all other resources. There is no other resource greater than this resource called Human Capital. It must be acknowledged that Manipur is a complacent society. Whatever we have achieved has not been entirely because of the system but in spite of it. This, however, does not diminish the record of our achievements in any sense. Our potential and capability can achieve much more than what we have done so far. Where we have failed and could have done much better is in the development of Manipur's Human Capital. It is recognized all over the world today that the real wealth of nations lies in Human Capital rather than financial capital. Our society always talk of Japan but they refuse to follow its example. Japan has no resources of any kind at all. Its resource is only one and that is Human Capital. If we have to compete with the world and strive become a super power in different fields in the future we have to ensure the development of our human resource. We have to learn from Japan how it has developed its human resource. If we neglect the development of Human Capital, our dreams will largely remain unfulfilled. The quality of the Manipuri gene pool is recognized and accepted all over the world. We have to take advantage of this resource. Given the opportunity, we can prove that Manipur's Human Capital can be one of the best in the world. It has already been shown what a Manipuri human population can do in the other places of India and in the other places of the world. Our Endeavour should not be to look back as so many of our politicians are so fond of doing but to look ahead. I don't have much idea about economy. But Pandit Nehru himself stated that, "There could be no real freedom without economic freedom, and so long as poverty remains. To call a starving man free is but to mock him". The economic condition of the people should be improved as poverty remains the root cause of many crimes. Adequate wages should be paid to those who are employed. When people are thus provided for with opportunities for earning a sufficient income, they will be contented, will have no fear or anxiety. And consequently the society will be peaceful and free from crime. Woman who has a dignified and an important part to play in society and fitting her harmoniously into the social fabric. And lovable member of the household, held in place by numerous relationships, and respected by all as the mother of worthy sons. Man in our society has degraded so much that they take advantage of the weakness of women, instead of helping her to explore her individuality, identity and thus realize her potentials, men are constantly betraying women in the name of love and use them like a toy. There is a saying that, "Women sacrifices anything to get their love but men pretends to love in order to be the recipient of such sacrifices". The hostile attitude towards women in society was repeatedly criticized and challenged by different countries on numerous occasions. "From woman is man born, inside her he is conceived ………From woman originate new generations ………Why revile her of whom are born great ones of the earth?" ----- Adi Granth Both the women of our society are going that way for this so-called "MONEY" to survive in this society. They are also human beings. They also want to live their lives like any other humans would love to-live life with some dignity. They are not going that way willingly. They don't feel happy when they step in that way. Why they should be happy at all? They also know how to live a decent, respectable, dignified life like you. Even if they want to do something also, what to do? "If a human is born he has to live. He cannot go until his time comes. So to live he has to do something for his livelihood." The conditions of their life may have forced them to go that way. People of our society may think and say many things to them. Instead of thinking and being judgmental and saying anything to them, we must think and analysis why they go that way, and who is responsible for their choice. This will bring light on this issue and bring to our awareness a number of things we were unaware about. If we don't save the building blocks of our society - there will be no longer our society will be spoiled drastically. M.K. Gandhi stated that, "Man should learn to give place to woman. A country or a community in which women are not honoured cannot be considered as civilized". Who has forced them to go in that way? I would like to keep this as a question to the people of our society.
