Sanjit's mother moves court, seeks CBI probe

The mother of Chungkham Sanjit who was killed by police in 2009 in an alleged fake encounter, has moved Manipur High Court seeking a fresh investigation into the case by the CBI.
The petition was filed on Monday by Chungkham Taratombi as another court in Imphal is holding the trial of the case. Sanjit, 22, a former militant, was shot dead inside a medicine store in Imphal city by the police in broad daylight on July 23, 2009.
