Ring out the old, ring in the new
- Hueiyen Lanpao Editorial :: January 01 2013 -
It is that time of the year again when we need to look back and take stock of trials and tribulations of the life in the year, 2012, which is giving way to a New Year, 2013.
But the bitter truth is that the outgoing year, which began on a high note with new promises and hopes along with electing a new government, seems to have slipped away quietly leaving behind the people in this strife torn State in a never ending cycle of confusion and chaos.
Triumphs and tragedies may be part of human life, but the rising communal tension, killings and crimes against women and children that continued to dominate the life of the people throughout 2012 offered little solace to the wearied souls from the glimpses of triumphs here and there.
In such a situation, what coming New Year, 2013 would bring forth remains uppermost in the mind of the people.
But in spite of the setbacks, the journey of life has to go on and we have to strive harder. No mountain should be high enough for us to climb and no ocean should be vast enough for us to swim across.
Another fresh New Year is here today for us to start a new beginning.
Another year to live, to love, to laugh and to give...This is the chance to ring out the old and ring in the new, ring out the false and ring in the true, and to banish worry, doubt and fear.
Let bygones be bygones, and look ahead with newer hopes and promises of a better life in the coming years.
After all, we have been given the opportunity once again to right the wrongs and redress the grievances which are mostly of own making.
On this optimistic note, we, at Hueiyen Lanpao Group of Publications, would like to extend our warmest greetings to all our esteemed readers and well-wishers for the year, 2013.
