Resolve Manipur-Nagaland border dispute through national tribunal: UCM
Nagaland Post | Thingbaijam Dhamen | Imphal, Jul 3
United Committee Manipur (UCM) Friday suggested that the inter-state boundary dispute between Manipur and Nagaland over Dzuko/Kozirii be resolved under supervision of a national tribunal. Speaking at the 15th foundation day of UCM , its president Elangbam Johnson said that Manipur had lost its land at the time of creation of Nagaland state and the dispute at Dzuko and Koziirii surfaced around 1985.
Resolving these disputes once and for all would ensure peace in the inter-state border, he said. According to the UCM, the disputes should be resolved by constituting a national tribunal where the Centre has to take initiative to settle the issues.
