Recruitment of Faculty: Advertisement No. 02/2007 The Central Institute of Technology was set up in 2006 in Kokrajhar District (BTC) of Assam under the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. Initially this Institute started with two Diploma courses in Electronics & Communication Engineering (EC) and Computer Engineering (CE). Two more Diploma courses i.e. Food Processing Technology (FT), and Instrumentation & Control (IC) are under consideration for being started from July 2007.

Applications are invited in the prescribed proforma from the citizens of India and from such other persons declared eligible by MHA, Govt. of India, for the posts of Lecturers in the discipline(s) :

Electronics & Communication Engineering,
Computer Engineering,
Food Processing Technology,
Instrumentation and Control,
Electrical Engineering,
Civil Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering,
Sociology,
English,
Chemistry,
Mathematics,
Physics

upto June 15th, 2007.

Pay Scales : Rs.8000-275-13500/- and other benefits as applicable to Central Govt. Employee.

EQ & Experience : The essential qualification and experience criteria , will be as per the AICTE norms and guidelines as applicable to degree level institutions. Minimum qualification for Engineering Departments is First Class Bachelor’s degree level in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology ; OR First Class Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology.

Minimum qualification for Humanities and Sciences is Good academic record with at least 55% marks or, an equivalent CGPA at the Master’s level, in the relevant subject from an Indian University; or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates for Humanities and Sciences should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturers conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.

Age : Normally below 40 years but may be relaxed for in- service candidates.

Interested persons may submit their application on plain paper/format available in the website, clearly stating Name , Address for correspondence, Date of Birth, Whether SC/OBC, Present Position, Academic qualifications (Examination passed, Subject, Div/Grade, % of marks, year of passing & Board/Univ.) from high school onwards and Professional/Teaching/Research experience (Name of post, Employer, Pay & Pay scale & Period of employment), List of three referees, List of publications and other specific information along with photocopies of all certificates in support of his/her candidature and one attested passport size photograph pasted on the form.

The completed applications together with a Demand Draft of Rs. 25/- for SC/ST and Rs. 100/- for General/OBC candidates drawn in favour of CIT, Kokrajhar and payable at SBI, Kokrajhar (Br. Code No.0119), Assam should reach the Registrar, Kokrajhar- 783 370, Assam latest by June 15th, 2007 (4.00 p.m) by registered post only superscribing the envelope as Recruitment of Faculty.

General Conditions/Instructions for Appointment by Selection of faculty:
1. Candidates have to apply against this office Advertisement No.02/2007 enclosing the required Demand Draft.
2. Reservation/ age/ experience of candidates shall be as per Govt. of India rules.
3. Incomplete applications and /or applications received late shall summarily be rejected and no further correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
4. The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the posts advertised.
5. Mere fulfilment of qualifications and experience requirement laid down does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview.
6. Candidate possessing higher qualification & experience will be considered for additional increments as per rules.
7. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview.
8. Persons employed in Govt./Semi-govt./PSUs/Autonomous Institutions should submit their applications through proper channel.
9. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
10. Any change of address should be communicated at once to the Registrar, Kokrajhar.
11. Outstation candidates called for interview will be provided simple second class train fare/bus fare for to and fro journey as per rules on attending interview.
12. Candidate may be considered in absentia if they are not in India on the date of the selection Committee meeting for the department concerned on the discretion of the selection Committee.
