SPECIAL RECRUITMENT DRIVE FOR
RECRUITMENT OF TEACHING FOR VIDYALAYAS
LOCATED IN THE STATES OF
NORTH EASTERN REGION.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Regional Office, Shillong invites applications in prescribed format, from eligible Indian Nationals for filling up of vacancies and for drawing a panel of candidates for the posts of teachers (PGT, TGT & Misc. Category) on DIRECT RECRUITMENT basis in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (hereafter JNV) located in North Eastern States. The selected candidates will be posted to JNVs and will have to serve beyond 10 years in these Vidyalayas.

PART-I

Name of Posts :-

(a) Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) in English, Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics, Biology, History, Geography and Commerce
(b) Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) in Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science
(c) Misc. Category of Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) Misc.) in Art, Music, Physical Education (Male & Female) and Library Science.

Pay Scale:-
(i) PGT- Rs 6500-200-10,500
(ii) TGT and TGT (Misc.) - Rs. 5500-175-9000.

Upper Age Limit:-
(i) PGT- 40 years as on 31.07.05
(ii) TGT- 35 years as on 31.07.05
(iii) TGT (Misc.) -30 years as on 31.07.05.

Educational Qualifications:- PGT.
(a) Masters degree in concerned subject with minimum 50% marks from recognized University
(b) B.Ed or equivalent from recognized University (c) Proficiency in leaching through English and Hindi language.

DESIRABLE:
Experience of teaching in relevant subject as TGT in recognized schools, Experience of working in Residential school, Knowledge of Computer.
TGT:- (a) Four year integrated degree Course of Regional College of Education of NCERT with minimum 50% marks in relevant subject as well as in the aggregate.
OR A bachelor degree or equivalent from recognized University with 50% marks in concerned subject and In aggregate with subject combination as follows:-
(a) 1 TGT Hindi/English-Hindi/English as elective subject at degree level respectively.
2. TGT (Maths) Physics, Chemistry, Maths at degree level.
3. TGT (Science)- Botany, Zoology, Chemistry in degree level .
4. TGT (S.St)- History or Geography plus any two subjects from History, Geography, Economics, Pol. Science.
(b) BEd or Equivalent from recognized University.
(c) Competent to teach through English and Hindi/concerned Regional language as the case may be (Regional Language option to be given in the application)

DESIRABLE: Working in Residential school and knowledge of Computer.
TGT (Misc.): Art Teacher- (a) Five years recognized diploma in any discipline of Fine Art after passing Class X Exam
OR Post Graduate degree in Drawing and Painting.
Fine Art from a recognized University/institution
(Degree of Bachelor of Fine Art after Class XII will be considered as equivalent to 5 years diploma in Fine Art after Class X).

DESIRABLE: BEd degree, working knowledge of English and Hindi or other Regional language and Experience of working in Residential school.
Music teacher: (a) Five years study in Music Institution equivalent to Graduate/Post Graduation from recognized University/Institution
OR Bachelor degree in Music from recognized University and BEd
OR Higher/Senior Secondary with anyone of the following:-Sangeet Visharad of Gandarva Maridyalaya Mandal, Bombay or Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow or Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwa Vidyalaya, Khairagarh (MP) or Sangeet Prabhakar Examination of the Prayas Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad.
OR Following, Degree/Diploma awarded by Pracheen Kala Kendra Chandigarh:-
(i) Sangeet Bhaskar with Graduation in any discipline
(ii) Sangeet Nritya Bhushan with Graduation in any discipline
(iii) Sangeet Bhushan or Sangeet Nritya Visharad with Class XII or equivalent.

DESIRABLE: Working knowledge of English/Hindi/Regional Language, Experience of Working in Residential school.
Physical Education Teacher: BPEd from Recognised institution,
(b) DPEd (minimum one year academic session) with admission qualification at least Graduate of a recognized university.

DESIRABLE: Working knowledge of English/ Hindi/ Regional Language and Residential school.
Library Science: (a) University (Recognised) degree in Library Science,
OR Graduate with one year Diploma in Library Science from Recognised institution.
DESIRABLE: Working knowledge of English/ Hindi/ Regional Language and Residential school.
