Noted humanitarian Rakesh Naorem has been conferred with the prestigious Rashtriya Samaj Seva Ratna Award 2022 by The Global Human Rights Foundation.
It may be noted that The Global Human Rights Foundation is recognised by the Government of New Delhi and that this award comes with an honorary certificate signed by
Dr Hema Ravshankar, Vice-Chancellor The Global Human Rights Foundation, London;
Dr KR Arunchalam, President The Global Human Rights Foundation, Malaysia;
Diviya Krishnamurthy Programming Head, The Global Human Rights Foundation Sri Lanka and
Ravi KS Narayan, National President
along with a memento and a medal.
The Rashtriya Samaj Seva Ratna Award is conferred in the name of the eminent South African human rights activist Nelson Mandela to various people around the globe to honour their work in the fields of humanitarianism, social and cultural activism. It is worth mentioning that Rakesh Naorem hails from Tentha Khongbal under Wangjing Tentha A/C in Thoubal district.
He is a writer, filmmaker and a humanitarian who has carried out many social and cultural works in the national and international arena.
In recognition of his many virtuous humanitarian works, he was also awarded with
Dr BR Ambedkar National Award (2003),
Person of the Year (2009),
Humanity Achiever Award (2018),
Nongpok Ningthou Distinguished Service Cash Award (2018),
Bir Tikendrajit National Youth Award (2019),
Humanitarian Excellent Award (2020) and
Indo Bangla International Friendship Award (2021) among others.
He is currently serving as the secretary of Ipak Films Production Manipur, secretary of Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur and publicity secretary of Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur to name a few. Ipak Films Production Manipur has also expressed happiness that the secretary of the production house has been conferred with such a prestigious award.
