Sit in protest at Yairipok against govt for using excessive force to arrest students

Amidst the restriction and forceful denial by the state force, AMMOCOC Youth Organization, Yairipok under the aegis of All Manipur Muslim organizations’ coordinating committee (AMMOCOC), HQ Imphal have successfully organized a peaceful sit in protest at Yairipok.

The protest was attended by approximately 100 Men across from all walks including women and students from in an around Yairipok area. In a democratic country like India, every citizen is given a right to express his or her own view which is guaranteed under article 19 of Indian constitution. However the recent arrest of a renowned journalist Kisorechandra Wangkhemcha and detention under NSA as well as the arrest attempt of Executive Members of Manipur students Association Delhi (MSAD) shows the true autocratic and Dictatorial color of the incumbent state government led by BJP.

Misused of power vested upon the state Government to suppress the voice of the people is now a practice of the BJP led government. The state is in the practice of issuing order of CrPC 144 at their own whim to stop public from raising voice against their wrong doings.

It also be reminded that, the state force have prevented for organizing a peaceful protest at Kangla in Imphal under the invisible CrPC 144 order resulted to shifting the protest site to Manipur University, Canchipur .

All Manipur Muslims organizations’ coordinating committee (AMMOCOC) strongly condemn the act of the state government for using excessive force to arrest students and people who raise their voice and views.

AMMOCOC would also like to remind the state government, to keep the promises and assurance given to the general public in delivering Justice for Md Farooq who was Mob Lynched in an unfortunate incident at Tharoijam village.

Under the shadow of draconian AFSPA, the state and the Paramilitary force have been killing the innocent people of the state, and Abdul Gaffar of Lilong being the recent victim. The buying & selling tactic of the state government, by offering some ex gratia, a Job to the next kin of the victim, and suspension of the accuse personals to curb the people uproar is a practice of the incompetent Government without addressing the root issue.

AMMOCOC would like to appeal to all the General Pubic of the state and other CSO to stand up against the autocratic rule of the state Government, which deny the rights of the general public.
