Patriotism of Th. Muivah
(Is Muivah a real Naga ?)

Thuingaleng Muivah, as per media report, is very much eager to visit his native village, Somdal in Manipur after forty years of betrayal. So long the people of Manipur could not identify him as a Manipuri but rather as a rebel leader of NSCN (IM) fighting against Govt of India in vain.

Still he is too far to reach his native village due to strong obstacle raised by the people and Govt of Manipur. Muivah on the other hand, maintains that it is his birthright to visit his native village. Birthright is the right belonging to a person by nature ie natural right.

But Muivah is not aware of the fact that inborn social and moral obligation to society and motherland is associated with natural right (birthright). These right and obligation can not be enforced by any provision of Indian Constitution as they are natural and inborn.

Mr Muivah, it is expected, should be his own monitor while exercising and enforcing his birthright remembering that he owes the obligation (duties) to the motherland and that if he does not care for the duties, he should not deserve the birthright (natural right). Further, is Muivah qualified for the birthright by performing the inborn moral obligation? The answer is negative.

He was born and brought up in Manipur; in return he did nothing for his motherland Manipur but waging war against it under the aegis of alien people. Some dignitaries and civil organisations from outside talk of birthright of Muivah to visit his birth place without having sensible necessary knowledge of ground realities barring him from entering Manipur, his motherland.

How the question of birthright is being advocated for somebody who does not deserve it. At the outset Muivah is betrayer who has shifted his loyalty to alien neighbour State. He is a heinous criminal and perpetrator responsible for his own fate.

The impositions of Nagaism at gun point to all inhabitant tribes of Manipur was a stupidity of NSCN (IM) leadership towards creation of a majority group and for unification of Naga inhabited areas since the Kukis were adamant and sticked to their original identity. For defying the diktat to convert Kukis to Nagas, Muivah’s ethnic cleansing pogrom against the Kukis and torching of their houses and properties left many maimed, widowed, orphaned and displaced.

He is solely responsible for killing promising political leaders and officials of Manipur, for torturing village chiefs for extortion and even for Kidnapping of children for abundant ransom. Besides, Muivah eliminated thousand of NNC workers including those involved in the Shillong Accord 1975 for opposing him.

Is Muivah a real Naga with true originality belonging to any tribe of the erstwhile Naga Hills? In reality he is a man with borrowed name of “Naga” suffixed in his name. In early days no Naga tribe was heard inhabited in Manipur other than 36 original tribes.

The word or suffix Naga was given to all Manipuri tribes by force at gun point, not by choice. The historical evidence of being “Naga” of Manipur tribes is yet to be traced. The ancestral people and politicians of Manipur were happy onlooker of the nomenclature changing game of NSCN (IM) not sensing the consequences now facing.

Muivah’s widely propagated notional unique history of Nagas is the non existence of Naga history. He is worthless creature of Manipur laying in neighbour’s and roaming like a mad dog in the streets of alien neighbour State for greater Nagalim, a quixotic dream land.

Muivah is running in his advanced age to cover vast area for Nagalim missing a lesson against greed of land “How much land does a man need”? All properties in Manipur belong to the forefathers of all settled here having equitable shares irrespective of tribals and non tribals. A fine, sincere and brave patriot is better than hundred of thousand betrayer and unpatriot Muivah. He may be awarded nothing (Zero) patriotism.

The Nagaland-based Naga Hoho, NSF and other civil organisations are interfering in the internal affairs of neighbour State Manipur by various venomous slogans and statements against Meitei showing solidarity to NSCN (IM). They should introspect and first keep their house in order to maintain good neighbourly relation with Manipur.

The recent attack on Naga Hoho leaders in Kohima shows the popularity and ability of the Hoho. And also the NSCN (IM)’s stooges namely Naga Hoho, NSF, ANSAM, UNC etc should stop orchestrating anti-valley, anti- Meitei and anti-integration of Manipur music at the signals of the Magic stick of master orchestrator, Muivah.

Now Government of India let the cat out of the bag. The peace talk more than a decade engaged between Government of India and NSCN (IM) clearly shows the deliberate secret plan to disintegrate Manipur at any opportunity and possible chance.

The unrealised Telangana Statehood promise, the operation Green hunt against Maoist inviting more caution and violent activities and permission granted to Th Muivah to visit homeland Manipur causing confrontation for a dog fight between Government of Manipur and NSCN (IM) add one more unfit tag to Union Home Minister, P Chidanbram’s failures.

His recent visit of Mizoram in the pretext of law and order situation there may not be observed less than a secret collusion to curve out Churchandpur District disintegrating Manipur for Mizoram as a gift just in the same manner Dimapur was gifted to Nagaland against the public opinion of Dimaraj inviting another insurgent group Dima Halam Douga (DHD).

Does law and order situation of Manipur better at this juncture not deserve a visit of Home Minister to this trouble spot, tiny State of Manipur ?
