The Angami Regional Council (ARC) of the Naga national Council (NNC) said the “original NNC” would not attend the Meet of the ARC, NNC to be held on April 24 here at Kohima Local ground on the ground that the proposed meet is the “work of one of the factions”.
In a release, the ARC claimed that the Nagas do not support the Shillong Accord of 1975 adding it had created divisions and it had even resulted in the killing of national workers. Therefore, it pointed out, the “original NNC, which does not support the Shillong Accord will not attend the proposed meeting.
It also alleged that some Angamis misled others by claiming to be NNC/FGN but refused to stay away from the framework of the Shillong Accord. The ARC also said the speakers for the proposed April 24 meet should also speak the “truth” so that the Angamis were not criticized over the issue of the national movement.
“The reason why Angamis are criticized over the national movement is because some of them do not understand the reality of the Shillong Accord but justify it without telling the truth, the release further stated. Those who are going to speak in this meeting are expected to do so lest the Angamis are unnecessarily criticized.
