Openning function of Tanglei Festival at Oinam on 31st Jan 2016

TANGLEI FESTIVAL 2016
organised by Oinam Sports Association

Oinam Sports Association is organising a socia - cultural event entittled TANGLEI FESTIVAL from 31st Jan. to 13th Feb. 2016 at Oinam. Yesterday at the openning function Mr. N. Biren Singh, M.L.A from Heingang Assembly Assembly and Mr. L. Radhakishore Singh, Ex-Minister of State from Oinam Assenbly Constituency graced the function as Chief Guest and President respectively. Mr. O. Budhi Singh, Chairperson of Oinam Nagar Panchayat and Mr. S. Priyokumar Singh, Vice-Chairperson of Oinam Nagar Panchayat were the Guest of Honors.

The chief guest open the festival and inaugurated a photo exhibition entittled, INSCRIVION. Later at the openning match of TANGLEI CUP which is a part of the festival FCB (Bishnupur) beat SSSFC (Singjamei) in 2 - 1. An exhibition Yubi Lakpi match was also held after the match.

To the organiser the event is planned as a host to increase the fame and pride of Ibudhou Tangleibung, the village diety of Oinam. It is the sole campaigner of its kind in Oinam and the surrounding areas to promote the local trend statement and indiginuity to the world.

The days long festival includes Indegenous Sports (mukna & yubi lakpi), Inscrivion (photograghy & exhibition), Potpham Leikai (trade stalls & food court), Health Bar (free medical camp & health check up), Women Day (beauty of the femanine), Town Day (community programme) and Tanglei Cup (seven - a - side invitation football tournament).

In view of the upcoming board (BOSEM) & council's (COHSEM) exam in the state and in support and respect of the students, parents, guardians and social bodies there won't be any entertainment events like Matam Eshei, Jagoi, Sumang Leela, Thabal Chongba, Movie Screening, etc. against the norms of social bans. There will also be strict ban on lottery, tambola games, lucky wheels or any forms of gambling during the events. We appeal all to help and support in making the event a grand success.
