First of all a BIG thanks to E-PAO for providing an opportunity to interact with Dr Meinya.
Nungsijaraba meeyam gi mahut oibiriba MP, Dr Meinya!
It is heartening to know that you have a HEART.
Like all Manipuris across the planet felt, the Mumbai murder was unfortunate, the incident was gruesome and the perpetrator of the crime should be brought to justice.
But my dear representative of the people, now that I have a chance to reach you, I would like to get some answers from you regarding the recent happenings in Manipur.
Yes, I am referring to the suffering of the Manipuris in the valley when there was the 45 day-long economic blockade.
As the representative of the inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency, much was expected from you to highlight the issue, specially when the Parliament was in session.
Sadly, not a single word could be heard from neither you nor your party.
As you must be residing in the MP quarter somewhere at the posh Lutyen's Delhi, perhaps you must not have felt the hardships of the people who sent you to represent them..
the time they have to spend in front of petrol pumps for just 5 litres of petrol....how they had to save up on cooking gas because the cylinder was touching record Rs 800...
My non-Manipuri old friends who are still in Delhi covering the Parliament session for their respective media organisations asked WHAT ARE YOUR MPs DOING?
Not even one raised the issue in the Parliament....
It was only after Indian Express highlighted after a 45 day long ordeal that the Centre took action, that too tokenism...with airlifting of essential items.
What had stopped you from calling a press conference in Delhi itself when the blockade was in its initial days and highlight the problems faced by the people you represent?
What had stopped you from bringing a calling attention motion in the Parliament on the subject. People have sent you there to highlight their problems and get
redressal from the government.
Your attitude shows how much you care for the people you represent.
Still today, there is no guarantee that the blockade will not be repeated.
In your capacity as an MP what are you going to do to stop the recurrence of such inhuman act?
As the elected representative of the people you have a responsibility, which one need not remind you.
It's time for you to justify your position as an elected representative of the people!!!
