Ode to April
Kshetrimayum Momo *
Snoring skies sing the lullaby of days gone!
Weeping clouds bring sweet memories!
There were nights like this,
when I cuddled in the warmth of your love,
oblivious of sharp lightings around.
The thunder of stormy April
awakens the teary nights;
The smell of moist dust
moistens my eyes.
Wake up, poet of the stormy nights;
Behold from Highgate this night,
far away, far away.
Write me a few lines…
Tell me how to write!
For, I too have a heart so soft,
which I've willed to a heart so pure!
Tonight, lend me your lines
Tonight let me love!
