NH7 Weekender 2016 kicks off its second edition in Shillong

The happiest music festival BACARDI NH7 Weekender 2016 opened its second edition from the picturesque RBDSA Sports Complex in Bhoirymbong, Shillong today. The opening day featured a remarkable line-up of acts, from American alternative rock heroes Vertical Horizon, multi-talented filmmaker, actor, singer-songwriter Farhan Akhtar's musical act Farhan Live, northeast poster boy of experimental folk Papon, London-based reggae sensation Natty to electro-rock producer Dualist Inquiry, comedy-rock band Vir Das Alien Chutney, Hindi and Urdu acoustic, folk-rock band Ankur& The Ghalat Family alongside local champions Alobo Naga, Dossers Urge and Elephant In The Elevator amongst many more.
The Shillong leg of the festival features five diverse stages – BACARDI Arena, BACARDI House Party, The Dewarists, Breezer Vivid Village and Insider.in Other Stage.
Along with some great music and stunning visuals, this year's festival also features the food and bazaar section with a scrumptious array of delicacies from the North East region right from Garo, Naga and Khasi cuisine to participants from the Bhoirymbong village who will whip up their local favourites. The flea bazaar showcases creative products specially curated for artists, craftspeople and DIYers.
With a huge turnout on Day One, the festival is gearing up for a massive Day Two with music from prolific rock artist Steven Wilson, bass raja Nucleya, home-grown favourites Soulmate with their History of the Blues special, Bangla rock superstars Fossils, Mumbai-based guitarist and composer Dhruv Ghanekar's new project Dhruv Voyage, London-based indie band Wild Palms and a rare Hindi post-rock band aswekeepsearching to name a few on the bill.

Tickets to the happiest music festival are on sale at the Box Office area of the festival venue.
The festival also offers special shuttle service which provides fans a convenient option to travel from prominent points in Shillong to the festival venue and back. Festival goers can board the Weekender shuttle from Polo Ground; Police Bazaar or Fire Brigade (Assam Oil Petrol Pump). A limited number of shuttle tickets are available at the Box Office area as well as pickup points.
Following its first stop in Shillong, BACARDI NH7 Weekender will travel to Hyderabad on November 5-6 and Puneon December 2-4.
