NE development to top PM agenda

Development of connectivity, trade and commerce and tourism between the North-eastern region and the neighbouring South East Asian countries will top the priority list of the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, when he visits Myanmar to take part in the Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
Dr Singh is scheduled to visit Nay Pi Taw on March 4 to take part in the third Summit. The Summit is expected to add momentum to regional connectivity and also provide an opportunity for promoting regional cooperation, Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh said while briefing newsmen.
