The Nagaland BJYM has derided the
Congress Government’s claim that it had brought about
all-round development to the people of the state
through various developmental projects and said the
Congress Government’s stunts, such as inauguration of
EAC and SDO headquarters, up-gradation of schools and
administration offices, health centers, etc, as
"nothing but a mockery and fooling the Naga people at
the grass-root level for its vote bank in the next
general election".
In a released, State BJYM President T Shuya said
during its 2nd leg of its first phase tour to Tizit
from April 9 to 11, found out that the people of the
area were unhappy with the empty promises of the
Congress government. The people complained of
Government’s policies and programmes supposed to be
executed remained only on paper.
Shuya who led a State BJYM delegation said they gave a
patient hearing to the problems faced by the people
there and added that they gave them assurance of BJP’s
full cooperation for the welfare of the Naga people
till justice is rendered. The team also questioned the
authenticity of the Congress Government and the manner
in which they have been proclaiming that they have
brought overall development to the people of Nagaland.
Shuya also said the recent inauguration of EAC, SDO
and ADC headquarters and up gradation of health
centers, etc, are all "fools’ creations" and further
explained that there was neither officer nor staff to
run these offices. Besides, officers or staff, posted
in these offices, seldom attended offices whereby
preventing the people at the grass root level from
voicing their grievances or seeking redressed. In this
context, the State BJYM has accused the Congress
Government of total negligence towards the people
adding even essential commodities are not being
distributed properly and fairly.
Where is the transparency and accountability in
implementing the programmes and policies under the
Congress Government towards the Naga people at the
grass root level, asked the State BJYM? It said it was
high time the State Chief Minister SC Jamir and "his
cronies" stop fooling the people and to let the Naga
people judge and decide their future for themselves.
