The problem of Manipur seems to be a cumulative effect of system failure as well as human failures. Though problems are glaring,
neither Central government nor the successive State governments have tried earnestly to resolve these problems.
Even the media reports only when Manipur is in crisis. The lives of Manipuris have become miserable because
of unemployment, underdevelopment and insurgency problems. Blaming one another for their past mistake will not bring any settlement.
We are lagging far behind the national average in many field. We have to solve the problems using various channels of communication
in systematic order through human approaches. The need of the hour is an unquestionable leader, encircled by management experts:
who can storm to the centre in the direction people desires. But it is difficult to find out one of them. Be a good politician
, attempt to score good mark in your profession. Then, only then, people will accept you as an unquestionable leader.
Manipur was a self-sufficient State which exported rice, cattle etc. to neighboring States like Assam. But after 1956,
population increased in geometrical ratio (1, 2, 4, 8....) and production increased in Arithmetic ratio (1, 2, 3…). No
equilibrium point can be met unless it is supported by import items. We are unable yet to exploit 3/4 of hilly areas.
75% of the entire population depends on agriculture. However, Thoubal, Bishenpur, Imphal East, Imphal West districts are the valley
districts favorable for agriculture. Government is still unable to provide better irrigation facilities.
Recent ceasefire extension issues in Manipur have got serious effects on Meitei, Meitei-Pangal, Kukis and Nagas of Manipur. Now,
Nagas and Kukis of hills and plains are completely divided; Which are the creations of politicians for their mere political gain.
There are still pockets of social and economic oppression and we are unable yet to impart universal education to our people,
particularly in remote and interior villages of hills and plains. These are the bleeding ground of hatred unless we attain to
this aspect; we cannot prevent social upheavals and law and order problems.
Youths joins undergrond outfit organization following uncertainty, frustration, helplessness influenced by the social chaos base
on historical background. Did anybody study the case history of individual(s) who join the U.G. group? Though empowerment of AFSP Act,
POTA etc. to the security forces and special training facilities to combat counter insurgency with sophisticated weapons;
even security forces are difficult to combat counter insurgency in the State. Lives of police and security forces put into
great risk for no valid reason.
False promises made by a few stupid (rapidly mistaken) Politicians, without attempting to maintain its accountability,
transparency, for a mere political gains creating havoc and unrest into the society .
Violence of Human Rights by the security forces and government in the name of counter insurgency are the common occurrence in
the State. Our rules of law are very expensive and time taking to get justice. Justice delay is itself justice denied. Who are willing
to follow up your rules of law unless your law does not protect us? Undoubtedly, we will be better off living in jungle law.
Even the wild beasts are not motivated by avarice and but seldom by thought of vengeance. They have dignity.
They kill only in self-defence or for food. Animals do not lie or cheat and they are loyal to their friends.
Imposition of AFSP Act, POTA etc. to empower security forces to enable law and order improvement is utter nonsense unless there is
follow up within a strict time framework. It is simply an anesthetic treatment by a Doctor before operation of his patient.
Enough for anesthetic treatment; operation may be successful but the patient will die by an excessive anesthetic treatment.
Even the children run away while they meet security forces. It is nothing but fear psychosis arising out of prolongs
extension of excessive power to the security forces.
In common parlance, Muivah (NSCN – IM) is wise; in the sense that he knows how to complete his mission phase-wise. He knows
how to recharge his struggle. Isn't your struggle a long term goal? Or have any guaranteed time framework? Even in a
short duration football match or one act, players have an interval to refresh; not only the players and officials but also
for fans or audience. So, who are the happiest in Manipur? Perhaps, artists and players; they have their world.
Now, government coffin is empty; deficiency has mounted to Rs. 230 crores, unable to pay 93,000 employees salary.
No development work, no fresh appointment. Sorry for ill-fated 4 lakhs registered unemployed youths.
There are no public and private sector to absorb them. Your gold medalist certificate, even donating 1 lakh to an added college fund
is not deserving yet for a lectureship getting salary of Rs 1000 per month.
Enough for begging bowl to the centre. No one interested to help for stupid mistake.
Blaming on insurgency only as the root causes of economy breakdown is utter nonsense. Terrorism is everywhere in the world. It is
a wise propaganda of face saving. Business world knows only profit and markets. They do not care for war. Did our people
need food for survival and struggle? People should not be left in lurch.
