We are observing Menstrual Hygiene Day, 2017 revolving around this year’s theme ‘EDUCATION’. We feel the need to celebrate this sacred life giving menstrual cycle of women for its significance to the development of women and girl child and our society at large.

We are organizing a one day program ‘PERIODtalk – Embracing LIFE’ by conducting an essay writing and extempore competition alongwith a panel discussion on 'Overcoming the taboo" by SGF and ACME. We encourage students and youths in general, to take part in the competitions and also to participate in the main event as it is intended to spread awareness and clear misconceptions about menstruation.

Details for the competitions are:

A. Essay competition:
TOPIC:" My Period Story" or "Gender inclusion in period talks"
Word limit: 1000-1500 words
Category A - Class VI to VIII Students
Category B – Class IX and X Students

B. Extempore Speech, on the day of main event
Topic revolving around menstruation, adolescence, social issues and general awareness will be provided on the spot.
Category A - Class IX to XII Students
Category B - Undergraduate Students

*There is a fee of Rs. 50/- for entering competitions and registration fee of Rs. 20/- only for each participant. Fees for competition payable only on the day of the main event, before 10:30 a.m. otherwise the entry will be considered invalid. Three (3) winners from each category gets exciting prizes along with certificate. All the participants will receive complimentary gifts.

**Result declaration and prize distribution of winners will be held on the day of the main event.
