Manipuri Cultural Program and Workshop organized at Itanagar
Itanagar, September 06; 2016:
The Manipuri Welfare Society of Arunachal Pradesh (MWSAP) organised Cultural Program cum Workshop on 3rd and 4th September 2016 at the auditorium of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) Itanagar. Musical evening, art workshop and Eshei Leela by Iramdam Manipur Artist Association (IMAA) were the main attraction of the program. A social service was also conducted in the campus of Bharat Scout and Guides Campus jointly by the artist of IMAA and volunteers of MWSAP
During the inaugural function S. Deven Sharma while giving presidential speech stated that identity of a person is identified by their culture. Without culture human is no better than animals he further stated.
Many Manipuri children residing outside the state have even forgotten to speak their mother tongue. Hence, such workshop and cultural programs will not only help the children to imbibe their rich culture but also make them a better citizen stated Dr. A. Dinamani Singh, HoD, ECE, NERIST. Mr. N. Sudhir Luwang, General Secretary, MWSAP also expressed the need to unite all the Manipuri residing outside.
Culture is the only bond through which this unity can be brought he further asserted. Shri. Chinglen Singh enlighten the gathering about his historical journey associated with Sumang Leela.
Shri. S Robindro Singh also deliver a talk on the Nupee Sabee and its Importance in Sumang Leela.
A team of artist under the supervision of Shri. Ch. Geetchandra Singh conducted an acting, singing and dancing workshop for the children.
On the final day, an Eshei Leela name Shuti Loidri was performed by IMAA which was appreciated by all the spectators both from Manipuri and non Manipuri
