Manipur mulls law to ban strikes

The Manipur government is working on a legislation to tackle the problem of frequent bandhs and blockades in the state, deputy chief minister Gaikhangam said here today.
Gaikhangam's remark came after an indefinite economic blockade called by the All Tribal Students' Union Manipur disrupted supply along the Imphal-Dimapur Road (National Highway 2) and Imphal-Jiribam Road (National Highway 37), which pass through the hill districts of Tamenglong and Senapati, since midnight last night.
