“MAGNIFICENT MANIPUR” - VIDEOGRAPHY CONTEST

Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals, film makers, videographers, organizations, firms, companies, etc. for submission of 2 (two) videos (Magnificent Manipur) of durations 30min. and 30sec. each.

A. Criteria for the contest are as follows:

1. The video should essentially depict Manipur Tourism only and should include the following themes:-
i) Culture and Traditions of Manipur.
ii) Handloom, Handicraft and Fine Arts of Manipur.
iii) Indigenous Games & Sports, Cuisines, Music, Festivals and Folklore.
iv) Local Flora and Fauna, and Landscape.
v) Some animation in the video will be allowed.
vi) Importance of Manipur as a Tourism Destination.

2. Videos must be submitted in DVDs of (a) adobe premier master copy and (b) MPEG4 or AVI formats in both the 30 minutes and 30 seconds videos.

3. The videos submitted must not be previously published or won any other prize or award, not infringe © or other individual right of any other party, and must be suitable for publication i.e. must not be obscene in the sense or deformity, depict violence or discriminatory behavior, or potential unsafe or dangerous practices. Alcoholic drinks, smoking or any other intoxicating materials should not be shown. Any food depicted in the video must not be waste food.

B. The Department reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any video submitted.

C. By entering this contest each entrant
i) Represents that his or her submission does not infringe on any third party copyright materials, trade mark right, personality rights or other intellectual property rights.
ii) Represents and warrants that any individual included in the video has agreed to their use, and distribution it any media whatsoever without any further consent or compensation.
iii) Has agreed that all videos submitted shall become the property and copyright of the Tourism Department, Govt. of Manipur and will not be returned to the entrant. The Department shall have the absolute right to edit and modify the videos for use in perpetuity.

D. Judging criteria: There will be 3 (three) judges and judging will be based on the following criteria :
i) Inclusion of Manipur Tourism themes as detailed above (20%)
ii) Creativity and ability to impact others (15%)
iii) Video quality, and Background Music (preferably native music) (20%)
iv) Editing and Direction (20%)
v) Narration (15%)

vi) Video of 30 seconds (10%)

E. There will be one top prize of Rs 1.00 lakh (Rupees One lakh only) for the best video, and other selective consolation prizes.

F. Applications may be submitted to the Office of the Deputy Director, Tourism Directorate, North AOC, Imphal – 795001, on or before 1300 hours of 24th March, 2012.
