Let Us Remember All Rape-murder Victims Of India
30 December, 2012
The Delhi rape victim ended her life in a Singapore hospital. It is a sad and tragic story deserving the greatest of condemnation. Sadder still is the story of the death of the Delhi policemen, who died doing his official duty in controlling protesters of the heinous rape, assault incident.
Delhi is not the only place of its occurrence, rape-murder incidents have taken place in Assam and its neighbouring states. Regrettable enough, many of them has the Indian security forces as the perpetrators.
The rape-murder of the likes of Ms Raju Barua and Ms Bhanimai Dutta of Assam and Thangjam Manorama of Manipur has never drawn the unequivocal condemnation of the mainstream intellectual circle and media of India.
Let us all citizens of India remember the rape-murder victims of Assam and Manipur, together with all such incidents in India with introspection and condemn all the perpetrators of the such incidents be it in Delhi or elsewhere.
Introspection, remembrance and condemnation of rape-murder incidents of Assam and Manipur, together with that of the all such incidents in any part of India with an open mind, will never strengthen the hands of any secessionist elements in any part of our country, but will strengthen the sense of belonging and oneness among all communities of India and will strengthen India as a nation.
