Legal Services Week : NALSAs Pan India Awareness / Outreach Campaign
Date : 8th to 14th November 2021

As a part of the celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence and under the direction of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Department of Justice, Govt. of India, Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) is launching NALSAs Pan India Awareness cum Outreach Campaign starting from 2nd October to 14th November as part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahatsav” and “Legal Services Week”, 8th to 14th November 2021.

As a part of the 45 days Special Campaign, various legal awareness & outreach drive will be conducted by Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) and District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) so as to provide legal assistance to the marginalised and poor beneficiaries to resolve their long standing legal issues in collaboration with District Administrations, Government Departments, CSOs, Law Students and other relevant stakeholders so as to reach out to each and every villages and Gram Panchayats of the state.

Legal services camps will also be organised so that marginalized and poor beneficiaries are made aware along with assistance of enrollment in various welfare schemes. Awareness programmes through TV, radio and social media platforms will also be conducted so as to reach out to a maximum number of people in the state. Pamphlets, posters etc. will also be distributed for providing awareness to the general public.

Mention may be made that, the nationwide campaign will be formally launch on 2nd October 2021 by the Hon’ble the President of India in the august presence of Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India & Patron-in-Chief, NALSA, Hon’ble Minister for Law and Justice, Government of India, Hon’ble Executive Chairman, NALSA, Hon’ble Chairperson, Supreme Court Legal Services Committee and other dignitaries from 11 am to 12 noon at Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

The said programme will be streamed live on NALSA YouTube Channel as well as other television channels including Doordarshan.
