Issues raised by NPF Legislature Wing
Kohima, 22nd July 2020
The Naga People’s Front being the responsible opposition party in the state has genuinely time and again raises various pertinent issues concerning the welfare and development of the people but the present Government of the day (PDA) turn a deaf ear instead, and escape with skeletal excuses on all the occasions.
The Naga People’s Front takes strong exception to the recent decision of the Hon’ble Speaker NLA for refusing to entertain the issues raised by the NPF Legislature Wing during the BAC meeting.
The NPF expressed dismay over the Speaker’s decision that the issues raised by the NPF Legislature were of the urgent matter and are of public importance and so it is expected the Speaker to consider the subject matter and table in the forth coming Assembly session rather than outrightly rejecting it.
The following issues were raised by the NPF Legislature to be discussed in the floor of the house but the Speaker has flatly refused the plea of the opposition party.
Naga Political Issue.
The Naga Political issue, which requires urgent attention as the Naga people are anxiously awaiting for an early honourable solution, therefore, this needs to be discussed in the Assembly.
Covid-19.
The present pandemic is another issue which should also be discussed thoroughly as the public has every right to know how the Government is handling. The NPF genuinely seek the Present Government attention that the programmes and activities of the present and future course of action need to be deliberate thoroughly and for which a joint effort is required.
It is obvious that the PDA Government has not been effectively tackling the present pandemic and that could be the primary reason why the PDA Government do not want to discuss the Covid-19 in the Assembly.
SARFAESI Act 2002.
The SARFAESI Act needs to be thoroughly discussed in the floor of the house as keeping the SARFAESI Act in a limbo is adversely affecting the young entrepreneur as they cannot avail loan from the banks because of the conflicting stand adopted by the present Government.
Therefore, the refusal on the part of the Speaker on the public importance issues on unjustified stand and depicts the callous attitude of the present PDA Government towards the welfare of the public. The NPF still insist that the issues raised by its Legislature Wing should be once again considered for the thorough discussion in the forth coming Assembly session.
Meanwhile, the NPF also expressed its concern over the recent advertisement in the Medical Department. The party understood the present situation with the pandemic doing the round has demanded and require more medical staffs but any appointment should be done as per the laid down norms and conditions of the Government procedures so that no deserving candidates are deprived.
The Government should not discriminate any batch of the trained medical staff and the department should not float any new rules regarding the recruitment policy just because of the present pandemic situation.
