FAITH IN ACTION the Semi Finalist of India’s Got Talent 2011 has once again made the Nation proud bybeing the World Champions among the 147 countries participated in “Team Aerobic competition” recentlyheld at the World Taekwondo Hammadang 2014 from August 21 to 24 at Pohang city, South Korea. They also managed to break the 40 year old national jinx to win a team event at the international arena and were the only squad to win Gold medals for India besides winningindividual gold( long kick)1 silver medal ( long kick )10 bronze medals. A Total of 13 medals.

The 20 member team of Faith in Action was among the 38 Participants who represented India under the banner of Taekwondo Board of India. It may be mention that the Team Faith in Action was actually invited to represent India.

The Journey of Faith in Action was not without some hurdles. Faith was tested as Narrated by Deep Kumar the founder of Faith in Action during our Telephonic conversation. Before leaving Nagaland the FIA teamhave approached the Nagaland Youth Resource and Sports Department for financial assistance but the Department was unable to help them with the reason that the department is facing a financial crunch. Though disappointed the team decided to do their own fund raising and have faith in God.

With the help of the well wishers and generous donors the team left Nagaland. On reaching Delhi due to Visa problem the team missed their flight and two of the team members had to return to Nagaland which was anotherdisappointment but nevertheless they did not lose hope.The Sports Minister of Nagaland had send Rupees one Lakh to the team in Delhi out of his own pocket which was a huge help but still they needed more funds to purchase new flight tickets.

As all hope was losing out of nowhere a stranger by the name Mr. Baliram Sharma in his late 60’s accompanied by his daughter from Himachal Pradesh came to drop his son in law at the Delhi airport. When he saw the team he approached them and wanted to know more about their travel.When the team began to narrate their story and their misfortunes the man said he will help them since he has faith in them. He assured them they will win, he also expressed his love for Nagaland and North East.

The next day the man met the team and handed over to them a cash amount of Rupees 2.70 Lakhs with the agreement that the team pay him back within a months’ time after they reach Nagaland. This man may be a stranger but for the team he was an angel send from God.

The story does not end here. The team now has to pay back the stranger who had faith in them and has a huge task of raising Rupees 2.70 lakhs. Faith in Action is a Non profitable, voluntary Martial Art Organization brilliantly choreographed to the accompaniment of music that blends evangelization to fight social problems. The team is yet to be acknowledge and felicitated by the Nagaland State Government. The Taekwondo board of India has decided to felicitate the team during Dr. Ambedkar National Games which will be held 2ndweek of October at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.
