Media and News :: It's the people to judge the truth

Media plays an important role. It is a mirror of the society. Its duty is to inform, educate and entertain the people but nowadays we see that media is not doing its duty honestly.

Instead of giving important information and educative programme it is giving emphasis to sensationalize the public. They are only trying to attract people to increase their TRP (Target Rating Point) rating.

They raise the matter for two or three days then they forget that and never try to get the feedback of the cases. Media has a constructive role to play for the society.

Today News Channels and even some Newspapers is mouthpiece of some political parties.

Their work then limits only to spread the ideology of the party rather than giving the correct news. People have to judge on their own by looking different channels for the same news and then form a conclusion. Media is the watch dog of the political democracy.

If it plays its role honestly it will be a great force in building the nation but now a days due to great commercialization it is not performing its role properly which is not healthy for society. These are the blames and criticism receiving by the media now everywhere.

All these blames and criticism is all about news portion. Here, we are of the opinion that news is a report of recent occurrences, information of something that has lately taken place, or of something before unknown; fresh tidings; recent intelligence.

The media are so much part of us that to recognize their impact, we must step back and consciously think about how they shape our lives and what they are saying. The media affects people perspective not only through television, but also through radio and newspaper.

In this way, even many messages with which we cannot agree, inevitably coming to us from a diverse constellation of media, will not hurt us. They can even be turned to our benefit by whetting our understanding and articulation of what we believe. The media plays on peoples fears. Media is really an important object in the society nowadays.

Without the media, it would have never been possible for us to become so much advanced. Though sometimes it becomes too intrusive, but still we think it plays a very important role in our society.

Media helps people to know about how the poor people are being exploited by the richer ones, how the students are being abused by the teachers, how the brutal fathers are killing their own baby in its mother's womb as it is a girl. Had the media been not there we would have never been able to know a bit about all these.

Today, media is considered the fourth pillar of the state all over the world, first and foremost British Member of Parliament Lord Macaulay had given this status to the media, in any country, the governing body has a significant position, then religious leaders have second position, after that general public has third position and media have fourth position.

In any republican government system, there must be three administrative bodies, 1- Parliament, 2- Administrative department, 3- Judiciary body.

But the thing we wanted to say is that so as far as news is concern all about, it is not the judgment that given in the news but what the happening is.

Any of the contents of the news items is not the opinion of the reporters or the editors. It's just what the matter within the happening and comments of the persons involved in the news.

It is the people who will judge the truth should be known.
