Grave In The Forest
Hari Shourakpam *
They were fighting and using abusing languages against each other, she cried in the room and her tears were flooding the floor. In the heat of the moment they've lost all their love and mutual respect .They were baying for each other's blood little realizing that it was not going to do any good to them.
In the bedroom he was all alone trying to forget what had just happened between them.
It was hard to believe that they had just forgotten their promises made years ago before Holy altar, everyone was there in their wedding best that day.
The priest, friends, relative's, the atmosphere was full of warmth and happiness. She was in a flowing white silk gown, her hair was nicely done and she looked like an angel that moment .
The groom was in a blue suit with a matching tie and a creamy shirt .There was exuberance of love and happiness in the air. They thought that it would last forever till the end of the world , but it wasn't destined to last forever.
He tried to forget what had just happened ,the animosity and hatred brought by a breach of trust between them. He in an effort to forget it took out a bottle of Jack Daniels and took a pack with warm water and put on the May Wood song ,"give me back my love " the sound of the music was soothing and with each pack he felt better his stiff body became relaxed .
Tears rained down his face and he wondered where it has all gone wrong-maybe a little bit of restraint and submission on her part would have done wonders to cement the bond but now it seemed all over.
In the guest room she was contemplating suicide, wiping away tears her body was shaking not only out of physical abuse but she was mentally hurt, her trust and dreams had just gone haywire. Her pale face with tears running down could be compares to the tears of the MADONNA , it portrayed not only her fragile self and state of mind but rather her face radiated an innocence never seen before .
Somehow she felt it was all fate and that she should take the world on her own. That night she lay drenched in a flood of tears her only happiness was holding her daughter tightly in her arms, it was comforting and nothing mattered to her anymore.
She wanted to forget her past memories and start life afresh, waiting for the night to be over was like waiting a year to her.
At the first light of dawn she took her daughter stuffed some warm clothes and took a taxi . The scenery was mesmerizing, it started troubling her heart and she felt a twinge of pain , tears nearly rolled down her cheek's but with a firm clasping of her fingers to her arms she diverted her attention from It.
After Journeying through mountainous snaking roads she reached the airport got tickets and returned to her parental home. There she was comforted , she felt more alive and a sudden surge of energy engulfed her frail body , emboldened with a new spirit she plunged headlong into her passion of drawing for nights and days she toiled painlessly with the brush and after 15 days she couldn't believe her eyes she had produced the most innocent looking self portrait, a picture radiating an exuberance surpassing everything in innocence she decided to name it ANGEL.
It was an appropriate name her white and pale face , blue eyes , sooth black hair and eyebrows radiated an innocence an aura of fragileness , timidity and innocence .
She felt if she added a few tears gushing down the cheeks it would easily steal the heart of the onlooker .
Life went on and then an art exhibition where her portrait was displayed in various shades took her to the limelight , her talent was recognized she became a celebrity overnight .
A buyer wanted to pay her an astronomical sum, her life could have changed , but she declined the offer and it now adorns the walls in her living room .
If you readers want to see the child like untainted innocence ;fragileness and timidity portrayed in a picture you can find her in WWW.ANGEL .
I on my part have seen it, it torments my soul the sheer beauty and innocence captivates the innocent heart and I'm left all alone in the death of the night .
My only solace is listening to the soul stirring song n dream about the innocent face in its various shades till sleep drowns my memories
