Glory of Manipur Police with gallantry medals

It's now learnt to all that the Manipur Police Department got the highest numbers of gallantry medals in comparison with other states of India, let alone the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), one of the CPOs of the centre who got 26 gallantry medals, who tops among all the police force and para military force.

Not only the gallantry medals, the Manipur Police Department also managed to win another five medals which were one Police Medal for Distinguished Service and four Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

Well it is a matter of pride for the Manipur Police Department to outshine other states' police forces. It will surely give a boost to the courage of the police personnel for the welfare and service of the state.

Not only those personnel who won the medals, but also those who don't have the quality to win the medals can't do their duties with a sense of pride in front of other state's police force and central para military forces. It surely is an occasion of rejoicing and merriment for the state police force.

Everyone in the state, even those who hate the nature of policemen and those who are frustrated with the police acts are enjoying the huge achievement of the Manipur Police.

While we rejoice with the achievement of the Manipur Police, the possibilities of the Government of India, encouraging the state police force to fight against, the insurgencies whom the Government of India is facing many hurdles and inconveniences in tackling with, can't be ignored completely.

Well it is true that the huge para-military forces of India and its might may demolish the ongoing revolution in the north eastern states as well as Manipur in an overnight.

However, the Government of India is not fully utilizing its power as there are high possibilities of attracting foreign super powers by such act of the Government of India since the ongoing movement in the state has some true image of revolution in itself even though many have resorted to extortion and terrifying the innocent people of the state.

In such situation, it might be the best option for the Government of India to use the state's own police force against the various revolutionary outfits of the state.

One should not ignore the fact that most of the gallantry award this year went to NE states and Naxalites infested states leaving aside states being targeted by terror attacks.

Anyway let's keep this aside and consider ourselves returning to the path of our forefather who stood tall in amidst of the great forces of the Ahom, Awa and Khagi kingdoms.

Our forefathers again and again defeated their neighbouring kingdoms and lived as a free kingdom without any fear. Once again, after a long gap, the Manipuris proved that they can outsmart any forces in the world by winning maximum numbers of medals.

Even though people are rejoicing the achievement of the police, they are still feeling a sense of insecurity whenever they see a policeman.

Apart from winning gallantry medals, there is still need for winning the hearts of the common people in order to erase the sense of insecurity felt by the people on seeing police personnel.

If the day ever comes when the state police put efforts towards winning hearts of the common people, the huge gap between the people and the police personnel will surely be reduced distinctively.
