Discussion on "Crime Against Women in Manipur" at Bengoon Loukok Community Hall, Mayang Imphal
Young Minds Collective (YMC), Manipur organised One Day Awareness cum Discussion Programme on the theme of "Crime Against Women in Manipur with Special Reference to the Mayang Imphal Thambalnu Case" today, the 15th September 2020, at Bengoon Loukok Community Hall, Mayang Imphal.
The programme organised is to aware and promote the rights, dignities and values of women's lives for establishing a peaceful and harmonic society in our future.
Along with the special guests, YMC condemns such crimes against women and children in our society. We demand to the competent authority to deliver the justice for the Mayang Imphal Thambalnu Case within a short period of time in order to regain the lost in trust in the judicial system.
People have seen many long pending cases in India like Kathua rape case, Phaknung gang-rape case, Babysana case etc. We urge the competent authority to take up stringent action against the culprits so the heinous crime will never be repeated in the future.
Special Guests on their speeches expressed their happiness on seeing the huge female participants. They also raised several concerns of this male dominated society that has simplified the such crimes. Such simplification of crimes against the women and children develops a social stigma and it eventually reduces the social participations that led to the marginalization of the female population in our society.
Young Minds Collective is a platform to promote and mobilize youth for an academic ecosystem especially in our under-privilege societies. Its motto is "Youth for a Change, Youth for Tomorrow".
It aims to empower youths to get good education and also involved in the societal welfares to have them the sense of responsibility, the sense of supportiveness and the sense of collectivism. We have been continuously conducting various academic and issue-based programmes at different places and different sections of society.
