I am happy to report that Bengaluru city has remained peaceful as it always has been. The Government of Manipur has deputed Mr. Clay Khongsai, a senior police officer to Bengaluru. Yesterday afternoon we called on the Director General of Police of Karnataka at his residence. Though it was a Sunday, and despite his pressing work, Mr.Pachau, DGP & IGP of Karnataka gave us a lot of his time, and briefed us the steps taken by the police of Karnataka to ensure that the State remains peaceful.
We met a large number of representatives of Manipuri Diaspora at the Senior Police Officer’s Mess, and listened to their concerns. Later in the evening, we called on Shri Jyothirprakash Mirji, IPS, and could convey the concerns of Manipuri Diaspora to the city Police Commissioner. This interaction with the Karnataka Police Department has confirmed that they are taking every incident seriously which includes verbal assault, threats, intimidation etc, and the people of North eastern Region are encouraged to lodge a police complaint by phone, fax or in writing, not ignoring any unpleasant incidence
Staying calm and remaining fearless is one way of battling the evil forces that want to destabilize this great country.
If there is any cause for concern, people from Manipur may please feel free to call me on this number any time: 08892236015
