Denying Love - Divine
Dr. Thamsing Lamkang *
I believe everyone heard or seen the mega-blockbuster movie's about the sinking of Titanic in the early '19th Century'. It's not often that such a large tragedy happens in the (no traffic) vast ocean.
We have heard that titanic-ship was one of the best ships, the most luxurious and the fastest modern marvels that man had ever built to be in the ocean. Many people (1513) died and hundreds injured. Many might have thought that for those involved in the tragedy life had lost all meaning, and so it was.
However, after a few years later, one of the survivors Noris Williams, who had competed and won a Gold Medal at the Paris Olympic Games in the 1920. Noris, a believer in the Lord had learned that God saved my life to fulfill His purpose to survive a shipwreck to become a winner, not just in sports but a true winner in the real-life!
Many people may have fallen as low as the Apostle Peter. He went so far as to deny the lord, saying to those near him that he did not know Jesus at all! He blasphemed and swore he had nothing to do with that Nazarene who had been sentenced to death.
And when Jesus looked him in the eye a few moments later, Peter cried a bitter tears; he had failed the greatest test of his life. He had let his Savior down just when he most needed to be counted.
Peter crept away in despair, believing that God would never forgive him. So he threw in the towel and went back straight to the old-style fishing again. His life no longer had any meaning. He had given his all to follow Jesus, but when the situation changed from better to worst he had denied Him and walked away.
He would never be the same again. After his denial each shadow reminded him of his fear; every sound became an echo in his ear which said, 'you'll deny me three times. 'He couldn't sleep well; he'd spend the night sobbing, remembering his Master, the one who had walked the lonely path to death because Peter had denied Him.
Three days later Mary and the two other women reached the tomb and heard the good news of the resurrection that 'Jesus had risen from the dead'. They were thrilled with joy and happiness.
They can't wait to pass on the very good news to the disciples and other followers! When Peter heard he couldn't believe his ears. He ran off, bursting with joy, seeing for himself that the body was no longer in the tomb.
When Peter saw Jesus that evening he just didn't know how to make things up! So he went to work, catching some fish and getting everything ready. He was ashamed of himself for what he did to Jesus. But Jesus wisely asked him a single question, 3 times, 'Do you love me?' 3 times-just like the denial!
It was then Peter understood that his Master had forgiven him. What a joy for Peter knowing he had been forgiven. That forgiveness was the turning-point in Peter's life. What about you, do you love Jesus? The Lord will never ever deny you!
I wander if you've ever denied the Lord? Surely you've disobeyed him at some point or the other in your life? Are you going alone a path that's not the one he's marked out for you? 'Put away your false gods and return to the Lord! 'You may think you've gone too far and you frightened of God. But God's heartbeat is different than your.
His arms are open wide, waiting for you to come back again and work for Him just like before! You'll not find more secure and loving season like the Passion Week, for the Son of God!
"Throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the LORD".
ADD TO YOUR LIFE; A VERY BLESSED EASTER AGAIN, BECAUSE "HE LIVES"!
