State artists won 10 awards including the 2nd best play on the drama "Daanveer Dutta Karna"
performed by artists of Western Cultural Association, Imphal
in the All India Drama, Dance and Music Competition and International Theatre Festival, 2019
held under the 27th Indian Theatre Olympiad which was jointly organized by
Utkal Yuva Sanskrutik Sangh and District Administration Cuttack
in collaboration with Dept of Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Govt of Odisha
at Millennium City, Cuttack
from September 1 to 10 on the theme "Diversity in Unity" .
Artists from 40 different countries reportedly participated in the said Indian Theatre Olympiad while the drama "Daanveer Dutta Karna" bagged the 2nd best play award
including the award for 2nd best director,
2nd best script,
2nd best actor,
2nd best actress,
2nd best supporting actress,
2nd best supporting actor,
2nd best make-up and costume and best musician award
in the All India Drama, Dance and Music Competition held as part of the said Indian Theatre Olympiad.
In the competition, director M Lolibala received the 2nd best director award for directing "Daanveer Dutta Karna" and also collected the 2nd best actress award for her role as Kunti while the writer of the drama Bhramacharimayum Roji won both the 2nd best script award and 2nd best supporting actress award for playing the role of Padamabati.
Ph Soniya was adjudged the 2nd best actor for donning the role of Karna while RK Chanulembisana also grabbed the 2nd best actor award for playing the role of Krishna.
The 2nd best make-up and costume award was conferred to P Priya Devi while Ch Basant was chosen as best musician.
