Cry Of A Dying River...82
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river natural made unnatural
The river sanguine made despondent
The river sublime made mundane
The river sedative made listless
The river romantic made robotic
The river fertile gone fallow
The river sandy turned muddy
Oh man! Oh machine! Oh mechanized mind!
What a legacy for posterity!!!
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that is alone but not lonely
The river that has no axe to grind
The river that loves flowing down memory lane
Fondest memories of the two pristine beauties
The 'Abulok' and the 'Irung' of primordial days
How crystalline the meandering water
Memories of the yore years gone by
Memories mired in the muddy water
Memories of the Wonder That Was Nambul.
