Cry Of A Dying River...37
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
Here's a letter to the denizens
A letter from a river a shrinking river
"When you dump piles of garbage to the river
It serves your selfish ends
Not realising you are committing a crime to humanity
When you throw plastic wastes to the river
You are digging graves for your descendants
When you release chemical wastes pesticides and oil spill to the river
You are poisoning the very water your children would be drinking".
I am no longer the river I was once
Here's a letter of ethics from a river
A dying river caused by your unethical conduct
"Every time you put a pollutant to the river
Forgetting you are a lesser mortal
A part of you dies
Every time you ravage the riverine ecosystem
You are choking, your children
Every time you abuse natural resources
You live and let your children die".
