Cry Of A Dying River...11
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that preserves the story of Kangleipak
The untold story of people's story
The unwritten tales of people's plight
People suffering for want of safe drinking water
In this land of lakes ponds rivers rainfall
Pedallers painfully facing 'dust devil'
In this 'Republic of Dust and Dirt'
The river that struggles to survive
Amidst the politics of politics sans policy practice and purpose.
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that keeps track of the traumatic history
The history of 'insurgency' and 'counter insurgency'
That darkest point in the history of the land of 'virgins'
When archaic AFSPA was enforced
When virgins after virgins were/are coerced and deflowered
When youths after youths went missing
When men after men became victims of 'forced disap pearance'
When women after women were widowed
Oh 'dehumanisation'!!! thy name is politics of insurgency.
