Common Entrance Test or CET Karnataka is conducted for the purpose of admitting students to first year Courses in Engineering, Medical Dental Courses in Bangalore , Mangalore, and other districts in Karnataka, All professional colleges (educational) within the Karnataka State which offers Medical Education, Dental Education and Engineering are affiliated to the state run Universities and recognized by the Mci, Dci and Aicte.

Education that fall to the share of the KarnatakaState Government.

CET is similar to other states cet in India and all India level like aieee ,aipge,cbse exam cat cat Karnataka or iit/jee,,gate,icet, CETKarnataka is so popular in other states like kerala ,tamilnadu,delhi in India

There are three kinds of seats (Free seats, payment and management quota seats) available in the various Karnataka colleges within Karnataka. The fee Structure differs every year for Karnataka State students and other ( non Karnataka) students . These in turn are split between the Karnataka State Government and the college management.

The payment seats are further sub-divided into Karnataka quota and Non-Karnataka quota. [ 2005 non Karnataka students are not allowed the other way get admission is management quota]

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY : The applicant should,

(a) (a) for Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std or equivalent exam like CBSE, ICSE, PDC with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 50% marks in the PCB group, provided that for Dental course, the candidate must also have secured 50% of marks in English language. (40% in the case of SC / ST / Category-I candidates.) For admission to these courses, the applicant should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December ..

(b) for Engineering and Technology courses, have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS & MATHEMATICS along with CHEMISTRY / BIO-TECHNOLOGY / COMPUTER SCIENCE / ELECTRONICS / BIOLOGY as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 35% marks in the optional subjects.

(c) for Architecture course, have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent exam with MATHEMATICS and ENGLISH and obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate in all the subjects. (40% in the case of SC / ST / Category-I candidates), provided the Karnataka candidates interested in joining Architecture course, will have to appear for both Part - I & Part - II of the aptitude test CAT conducted by the Common Entrance Test Cell, Bangalore

Details of comed/Comedk 2005 is the test conducted parallel to CET-Karnataka by the private Medical, Dental and Engineering College Association (comedk) The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association has entrusted the task of conducting a common entrance test to the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka {COMEDK} for the academic year 2005-2006, for candidates aspiring to pursue Postgraduate courses in Medical and Dental studies and Undergraduate studies in Medicine, Dentistry and Engineering in the state of Karnataka, Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka"
