Come And Support Rangdajied United Says Coach Santosh Kashyap
Shillong: on 10th October, 2013 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong, Meghalaya
With Rangdajied United FC all set for their 4th I-League encounter against Churchill Brothers on Thursday, coach Santosh Kashyap calls the people of Shillong to come in numbers and cheer for Rangdajied.
The Blues had a terrific match last week against Dempo when T Lalnumpuia and Sandesh Gadkari brought the team back from two goal down to draw the former champions. Since then the team is high on confidence and is looking to replicate the form against the defending champions.
Having said that, the coach knows, confident alone don't work in football without fans support and hence have urge the people to come and support the team. "Come in numbers and cheer for the team. Rangdajied belongs to Shillong and it's your team and your supports matters a lot to the players," Kashyap said.
Support definitely motivate the players to do well and on the contrary, it is this very support that bogs down the opponents. And Churchill Brothers coach Mariano Dias was very much aware of how crowds in Shillong gets behind the team.
"Yes, Shillong is a great football hub and the home team enjoys huge support. The constant cheering and jeering definitely plays on the back of your mind. But still we have come here to win and we will go all out to register full points," Dias said.
Both the teams are on equal footings, having lost two each and drawing one each. So, both the team are in lookout for three full points, that could set the momentum for the season ahead.
Rangdajied skipper Eugeneson Lyngdoh too sounded confident, saying that, we will go for a win tomorrow. "We respect Churchill Brothers, they have a very good squad and also they are the defending champions. But we are playing at home and we will take full advantage of the home conditions to beat them."
The match will kick-off in daylight at 3:30 PM tomorrow and will gradually be taken over by the floodlights. And with road-blockage not being imposed from Thursday, fans are being asked to come and witness Rangdajied United FC.
As coach says, "It's your team and it's you, who is going to make the team big."
