Collective Destiny
Dr Aribam D Sharma *
Time to look beyond
The narrow field of racism
Which only puts us in a big square.
Time to let go
Of the myriad foolishnesses;
Which only face inwards
Till a black- hole appears
Deep inside your soul.
Time to wake up
From the false lullaby;
Only to find oneself
Wanting for more
Within the closed circle Of life.
Time to change
Our perspectives however
Foolish it might appear
For now.
I know what you are Thinking;
But you see I get so lost
In my thoughts;
sometimes It seems you are right.
Time to change
Your habits of useless nothings
And Light up some sense in your hearts for
Life is too short for many mistakes.
Ones which sidle you up whenever you feel fulsome
And am I so scared that my share of oxygen might
Run out before me in the queue of life.
Time to change
To understand the foundations of liberty
Instead of fumbling with the nitty-gritty of freedom;
And realize the wings of a real revolution
In a reality of equality of information.
Time to change
Before we lose our ways from
Excess of rubbish,
And lay royally transfixed in our vision.
For change we must
Land ourselves in goodness so profound.
Time to change
As our time is running out through the rat-holes;
And our dreams soaking up cold darkness amidst
The eerie shrieks of
Droplets of broken hopes
For we must learn the ways of the dawn
Unfettered by weaknesses
Time to change
For it is inevitable
To face change even if
It means treading all the way
To the ends of the world.
To seek all the answers to all the sicknesses
Which enrapture your closed soul.
Time to change
And climb up something tall and gentle
To take in the world beyond your focal point.
And you would realize each of you is one answer
Which can deliver
Despite your incredulity.
Time to open our eyes
To see the damages eating away
At our souls;
And start to make our collective destiny.
