INVITATION

We, the undersigned, on behalf of the Chavang Kut 2012 Organising Committee of the Kuki Welfare Association, Guwahati (KWA-G), would like to inform on the annual harvest festival of the Chin-Kuki-Mizo communities – “Chavang Kut 2012”- celebration on November 17th (Saturday), 2012 at Shilpgram Auditorium, Panjabariri, Guwahati from 10:30 am to 4 pm.

Hon’ble Minister of Revenue & Disaster Management Labour and Employment, Tea Tribes Welfare Government of Assam, Shri Prithibi Majhi has consented to grace the auspicious occasion as the CHIEF GUEST. Besides, Shri D.P. Haokip IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax, Guwahati will kindly grace as the GUEST OF HONOUR; and Shri A. Lenthang, Kumpipa, Kuki Inpi India as the KUTPA (Father of the Festival).

Kuki Welfare Association Guwahati, established on 18th June 1998, is the representative body of the Kuki community living in Guwahati & Kamrup district and works for the development, welfare and promotion of cultural relationships in the state of Assam.

The CHAVANG KUT Celebration will showcase the rich cultures of the Kukis of Assam and Northeast India. The unique cultural items, traditional dress, music, dances, costumes, etc of the Kuki tribe will be displayed on this auspicious day.
