About the Conference:

The Northeast region is inhabited by various ethnic groups which have invaluable traditional knowledge about utilisation of plants and animals as food, medicine and othe rpurposes. But information on bioresource inventory is very scanty and lots need to be explored.

So, this national conference would provide an important platform and opportunities for the academicians, research scholars and students working and studying in Mizoram to share and gained knowledge by interacting with eminent resource persons.

The conference is expected to benefit lot of young students, researchers and teachers on the focal theme of the national conference bioresource inventory and emerging conservation strategies with special reference to Northeast India.

It would also serve the purpose of spreading awareness amongst the young scientific fraternity of the Northeast region on bioresource inventory, conservation and its sustainableutility.

o Bioresources, its utilization, processing and conservation
o Biodiversity, endangered and endemic species
o Microbial diversity, pathogenic and beneficial microbes
o Management of wetland bioresources
o Forest ecosystem, eco-management and eco-tourism
o Environmental history and Wildlife management
o Traditional knowledge, primitive innovative technology and under-utilized methods or tools, recovery of ethnic knowledge

Call for Papers:

The participants are requested to submit abstracts and full length papers of original contributions by email only to the convener of (BICON2013) on the above mentioned topics related to main theme of bioresource inventory.

The abstract/paper should be typed only in MS Word and in Times New Roman on A-4 size paper in double space with 12 font size, leaving 3 cm margin on each side, It should contain the title (Bold, 14 font size), name(s) of author(s) (12 font size) and affiliation(s) (10 font size) and e-mail of the corresponding author.

The name of the presenting author should be underlined. Acceptance of the abstract will be communicated to the presenting authors by E-mail for faster communication. Therefore the presenting author is requested to send their Email ID.

Dateline for Abstract/Full Paper Submission:
Submission of Abstract and Full Length Paper: within 15th February, 2013.
