The beginners’ tutorial program on “Meitei Mayek Script (Manipuri Script)” organized by the Association of Manipuri Diaspora (AMAND) Pune which is a nonprofit,
non-government community organization formed by the Manipuri professionals working in /retired from the Central Government or Maharashtra Government or other
reputed Institutions based in and around Pune inaugurated today, the 8th June 2014 by Warrant Officer T. Pakasana Singh (Retd) in presence of Dr. H. Narendra Singh, Er. N
Giridhar Singh and Mr. I. Jiten Singh at the Class-Room Complex, University of Pune, Pune.
This program has been planned to create a common platform for anyone to know and understand about the North Eastern states which is also in line of our ideology “Let
them know us as we know them”. This tutorial program will conclude with the final examination on 20th July, 2014.

The programme Co-ordinator Dr. M. Niraj Luwang welcomed all the course participants and gave the detailed background of this program. Giving the reference to
the recent initiatives taken by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to include the history and unique culture of the north eastern states in the curricula of the universities across the country, he emphasizes on the possible inclusion of the Manipuri language in the higher education curricula in near future.
About 70 participants have been registered for this audio-visual tutorial program. The course instructors Shri K. Kaminikumar (Retd) and Shri Kh. Khogen interacted with the participants during the tutorial session.
The program was concluded with the votes of thanks by Maj. K.Y. Singh (Retd), Vice President, AMAND, Pune.
