As June 18 Approaches

By Somorendro Khwairaikpam *

18 June is approaching. as usual, after a silence for 364 days, the "Pure" masses' revolution is going to be commemorated at two camps- as "the great June uprising day" and "Unity day" by UCM and AMUCO res-pectively. At some other places, the commemoration is also being organised by some civil organisations which seem to have rejected the formers'.

As they did last year, both the UCM and AMUCO are paying floral tribute to the martyrs at the same holy place. But the formal commemoration aimed at discussing over the day's Pure revolution is to be held at different Camps. Rising the question whether the masses are for a "Yes" or "No" next 18 June, it is yet to be united under the unity day and yet to be observed as the great uprising.

Inspite of differences, it is claimed by one side that it has honoured the wish of the senior citizens. But it still misses the real wishes and desires of the people. even the senior citizens and both miss what the martyrs might have really martyred for.

The question is if the senior citizens consider this honour as worthy and if yes, it won't be right for the people and the unfortunate ones would be the people.

Everyone knows that AMUCO came into existence along with the cause of Peace & Unity out of communal clashes and the UCM in the post June 18, following the Great uprising to guide and shape the same for the cause of territorial integrity which should follow people's unity and which only lies in the forcible interference of the masses to launch another crackdown on the crisis of economy leading the people to misery and strangulation thereby showing the might of Capitalism.

Every year, the people are made to hear the same speeches but not a single progress or change could be seen. It is because of the truth that the organisations lack perspectives and they attempt for nothing for the people but for themselves- popularity of the leaders.

The question is whether it is necessary to carry on the observance as usual or to resort to another perspective — to keep up with the Unity of the people and to resolve over the question whether the masses are to be prepared for a "Yes" next June 18 or "No" ?

The next question is why we do take this decision. Because, a mere observance or commemoration without any such objective which is necessary keeping in the mind - necessity causes invention, it would be a heavy threat against the poors, the workers and the peasants. The capitalist forces and the counter revolution would have been so advantageous to silence the masses.

It is very urgently necessary to take side clearly and to clearly relaunch and carry on the revolution in the same tune rather than a mere observance for the true perspective to lead to the socialist transformation.

The mere silence of the people after such an uprising and the obedience, to this dictating attitude of the Government arresting anybody keeping aside and describing what it is doing all as democratic and rule of law, would only pave the way for disaster for the working class and the masses.

The civil organisations meant for the masses and objectives discussed, remaining quite calm and moderate like the opposition Political parties, have nothing to do with anything and it only tells that they are the same wine in different bottles.

On this side, here are the corrupt capitalists; the reactionaries of revolution and gangsters of all facets and sizes who have plundered the masses and who have sold the masses at basement prices to the Indian imperialism. The side also own the people and organisations who use leftist mask, who do not worry in dragging the people's economy and partnered the corrupt system; bureaucrats, gangs of henchmen who support the Govt and partner the system network to loot the masses.

These are the support bases where the capitalist run the Government and rule the masses by legalistic and militarization means out of the masses' ignorance.

The other side and extend of revolution but now at risk: The other side - the left comprises of the rural and urban poor womenfolk struggling to feed their children; the unemployed youths striving for work; the working people agitating; the youths and intellectuals, the oppressed and poor for bread and justice; the anti imperialists and capitalists intelligentsia and all the rest.

The masses were, in no doubt, for such a class-war already at the right step but had faced a retreat as these civil organisations failed to see the perspectives. If it goes as it is for another couple of years, some generations would have to bear with the climax of the capitalist polarisation. In fact, the June 18 uprising had gone upto the extent of demanding "Plebiscite" and that moment was the marvellous turning point where we could take turn for the guaranteed future.

We, who are on the left side, who wish for a revolution at last, who could move and heaven, who are revolutionary and who could influence the revolution in this class-battle, are now where we should be and where we could join the revolution and take it to a completion.

Acts of the Government being able to arrest, detain and kill, at random, under legalistic sophistication; legalisation and militarization in the name of counter insurgency, are nothing but the show of the climax of its system. It is the right situation for a revolution to hold socialism since it is the only alternative to capitalism and socialist democracy to social democracy.

The only way out :- The revolution, for success, depends on the subjective factors- the revolutionary organisations and their leadership. It was not Mr. X or Mr. Y who implanted capitalism or the corrupt system and programmes, rather are the typical democratic movements and the monopoly capital which has brought the capitalists to power, it bases on the fruits of the Manipur Revolution.

It is, rather a capitalists Government in the manner of a "degenerated democratic state." In our case, these social democrats are the traitors and agents of the system, who conspire to attack on the true revolutionary Marxists to part the revolution in the graveyards. The organisations are basically people's organisations collaborating with capitalism.

The economic power is in the collective hand of the classes of the right side and unless and until it is smashed and handed over to the masses, the situation does not permit any other kind of revolution. Protests being exercised by every section of the people against ransom or demand of money is the major crisis of factionalism in the revolution.

Unveiling the activities of the revolutionaries which were underclothes in the intra revolutionary messes or differences, would only help the people to be terrorists. Both would face only condemnation.

Now is the situation, the revolution should go onto the offensive, to defend itself but only with the means of masses' influence and interference, learning to take into account and to perspective - the masses' attitudes. It should let the masses or any sensitive individual express free wills but patiently and revolutionaries to bear with it patiently. Every body should stress the need of a revolution within the revolution because revolution is at risk being at the crossroads as the situation spells.

It is to forward an anti-capitalists class programme from the international perspective followed by an anti-capitalist movement from a united platform.

Least but not the last, since a revolution is the urgent need of the hour and wish of every soul - a revolution against capitalism and simultaneously along with a re-volution within the revolution, only a socialist movement leaving aside all other campaigns and programme, stand ahead as the only way out but nothing else.
